PATIENT ENGAGEMENT UNIT

OUR INITIATIVE

Our unit is dedicated to the engagement of Hispanic/Latino(x) participants in cancer characterization studies. Our goal is to partner with participants to improve knowledge about their cancer, their treatment choices, and their outcomes. We do this by providing bilingual and culturally appropriate educational information to participants, giving them the opportunity to share with us their opinions throughout the cancer care process, and helping us optimize our approaches so that we can better serve our patients. Working collaboratively and iteratively with the Engagement Optimization Unit our goal is to develop a patient engagement framework uniquely tailored for Hispanic cancer patients.

Our multidisciplinary team includes bilingual doctors and scientists with expertise in outcomes research, cancer epidemiology, cancer biology, and genetic counseling, who are passionate about reducing cancer health disparities and improving outcomes among the Hispanic community.
